A toddler is in a critical condition after falling from a block of flats at East India Dock Road, in Poplar, on Monday night.

The Metropolitan Police were called to area in Tower Hamlets on Monday evening to reports that the boy had “fallen from height”.

Police, London Ambulance Service and an air ambulance attended and the child was taken to hospital. There have been no arrests.

On Tuesday, police said: “The injured child, a boy, has been transferred to a specialist hospital. His condition at this time is believed to be critical but stable.”

Police closed the road East India Dock Road’s junction with Chrisp Street and Newby Place.

Tower Hamlets Mayor John Biggs said, “I’m horrified to hear about this incident. My thoughts are with the child involved and all those affected & if anyone has any information on this please do contact [the police].”
