Canary Wharf Group has announced the launch of its first pet-friendly building, 8 Water Street, part of the extensive Wood Wharf development.

How is it pet friendly? There are pet-friendly spaces, you’re allowed to keep pets (obviously) and people won’t complain so much about the barking, because the barking is baked in.

It falls under the auspices of Canary Wharf Group’s residential leasing arm, Vertus.

As well as being pet-friendly, residents get tenancy terms that suit their needs, with flexible deposit options and a range of amenities and exclusive events. Apartments at 8 Water Street are available from £1,950pcm.

Head of Vertus Alastair Mullens said, As the first pet-friendly build-to-rent building in Canary Wharf, we expect to see a strong demand for these apartments as there are very few properties of this quality available on the rental market, which also have the option of keeping pets.

8 Water Street is a collection of 174 units ranging from studio to three-bedroom apartments. The building itself, designed by award-winning architecture firm Stanton-Williams has a low-rise character which connects residents to the water and green spaces below.

Pet-friendly gardens

The interiors have been designed by Goddard Littlefair. Each apartment showcases the best in open-plan living and accentuates the natural light throughout, with floor to ceiling windows and either a terrace or balcony. Apartments also feature wooden floors, heated floors in the bathroom and high-specification appliances throughout. Residents have the option of painting the walls of their apartment, making the place really feel like home.

In addition, 8 Water Street comprises 2,917 sq ft. of Club Vertus amenity space, which includes a private rentable dining room, residents lounge and a snug / TV room, perfect for a family film afternoon on a Sunday. 8 Water Street also boasts an expansive roof terrace and shared private gardens, both great spaces for giving pets their daily exercise. There will also been concierge on hand 24/7.

The new district, Wood Wharf, will house up to 3,600 new homes, 350,000sq ft of retail space and nine acres of public spaces, adding to the already extensive offering of Canary Wharf.

Show apartments at 8 Water Street will be available for potential residents to view from £1,950. For more information about Vertus or 8 Water Street visit www.thisisvertus.com or contact leasing@thisisvertus.com
