Yolk is opening its fourth site at Canary Wharf, offering breakfasts and lunches.

The owners say they will serve only produce of the utmost quality – St Ewe eggs; Ozone coffee; and slow-fermented bread from Celtic Bakers in north London.

Here’s some more:

Sandwiches filled with freshly roasted marinated chicken thighs and dripping in nduja mayonnaise; Bacon Baps with sweet-cured streaky bacon; poached egg pots with ham hock and house-made hollandaise.

A new self-ordering kiosk system, trialled successfully at Yolk’s other sites cuts down on waiting time and customers and can also order online here from Yolk’s Click & Collect system. Yolk also offers corporate catering, delivered free when ordered on their online platform here.

Breakfast and lunch are prepared freshly on-site, with signature sauces at the heart of Yolk’s offering. Here’s three:

  1. The house-made Bearnaise on the Steak Bearnaise sandwich (with 14-hour cooked bavette steak, bearnaise, caramelised balsamic onion & rocket).
  2. The buffalo-inspired Secret Sauce on their Avo-Mushroom Bap (soy-glazed portobello mushroom, smashed avocado & secret sauce).
  3. The spicy peanut flavours of the Bang Bang Chicken Salad (freshly roasted chicken, bang-bang dressing, pickled daikon, carrot, coriander, sesame).

The Fudgy Brownie emanates a slightly salty chocolate goodness (it says here). The team is also working on an evening menu, to be launched at Canary Wharf in August – think Chicken Parmigiana or Meatball Marinara buns, loaded fries and Mac & Cheese.

Opening hours at Yolk

Meanwhile, opening hours are seven days a week 7am-5pm Monday-Friday, 8am-5.30pm Saturday and 11am-5pm Sunday.

Yolk was founded in 2014 by Nick Philpot and, after a series of residencies and pop-ups, it put down roots in 2018 with a permanent spot-on New St Square, followed by a Broadgate site in 2019 and a Soho site in Golden Square earlier this year. Nick Philpot and co-founder Alkesh Tandon continue to explore further expansion opportunities.
